Discussing Equity in CS Ed ResearchThe CSTA Equity Fellowship is a selective, year-long program designed to develop leadership in equitable teaching practices and advocacy. The program will both provide leadership development opportunities to the fellows and identify opportunities for the group to develop ongoing, peer-to-peer professional learning experiences focused on addressing issues of equity in the computer science classrooms for all CSTA members.

What Equity Fellows Do

  • share their expertise with CSTA members across the globe, including on stage at the CSTA Annual Conference
  • develop professional learning experiences (e.g., online PD courses, webinar series, virtual conferences, chapter PD) for the CSTA community
  • collaboratively design and implement a project to promote equity in CS education
  • represent CSTA and the CS education community

  • $2,000 stipend
  • professional learning with premier leaders in the field, including quarterly summits and monthly virtual meetings
  • all-expense-paid trips to the 2021 CSTA Conference, with opportunities to present on a national stage
  • support from CSTA staff, expert partners, and dedicated resources to implement selected project
  • prominent recognition on CSTA’s website, the CSTA Conference, and professional learning materials
