The event will include three activities:

  • Read-aloud: choose one of three CS-themed books—How to Code a Sandcastle, Doll-E 1.0, If You Give a Pig a Pancake
  • CS-themed craft: make a binary bracelet
  • Hands-on CS activity: choose from a variety of activities, ranging from robots and circuit boards to no device necessary
To participate:
  • Visit the event’s Google Site for more information on the books and step-by-step directions for the other activities.
  • Click on the Register button to register your library to host the event.
  • Reach out to the event’s organizer if you are a CS teacher interested in supporting your local library.
The first 20 libraries to register will receive a $50 Amazon gift card to purchase materials for the event. In return, we are asking that each library:

  • Attend a one-hour session on how to run the event and use the hardware and software tools for the hands-on activities.
  • Have one staff person sign up for a free CSTA Massachusetts membership.
  • Advertise the event as a partnership with CSTA.
  • Post images to your social media accounts and tag cstamassachusetts.
Once you register you will receive more information, including promotional materials for the event, how to get an Ozobot (robot) on loan from educational technology company Teq for the event, and how to sign up for the one-hour a virtual prep session in December.
