If you want students to hear it, you talk. If you want students to learn it, they talk.’ But how do we make sure every student has a chance to talk? How do we support students so they can all meaningfully contribute? Collaborative activities go by a lot of different names but there are several key structures that teachers can add to increase accountability, promote equal distribution of voice, and deepen student understanding. In this session, we will explore how to add structure to your favorite collaborative activities as well as introduce a few strategies that can elevate your instruction.
