The Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) is a membership organization that supports and promotes the teaching of computer science, providing opportunities for K–12 teachers and their students to better understand computer science and to more successfully prepare themselves to teach and learn. 
 
We are looking for a motivated project manager (PM) to join an innovative 3-year project designed to attract, retain and engage English learners in AP CS Principles through professional development. This role will manage activities such as prioritizing projects plans, coordinating team meetings, monitoring budgets, and maintaining all records, files and databases. They will work closely with individuals across a wide range of expertise, including faculty, researchers, administrators and students.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manages day-to-day project operational & business functions; implements existing policy & ensures the effective, compliant, & efficient completion of daily administrative operations.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for all grant-related matters and coordinates work necessary to develop study procedures and tools, assures timely study progress, and ensures proper documentation. 
  • Leads regular meetings as required by the complexity of projects, and tracks all study progress (including participant accrual and data collection). Ensures that all study documents associated with current local, state, and federal regulatory guidelines, requirements, laws and research protocols are completed in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the PI to create and manage reporting to the sponsor, including developing annual progress reports. The project manager will work closely with the PI and study team to author scientific publications and/or grant submissions.
  • Develops and maintains project management systems on a platform that is supported and shared among all members involved with the project.
  • Supports financial compliance of grant budget which may include deciding on and approving expenditures of funds based on budget. Coordinates with office personal in the purchase of supplies, materials, equipment & services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Education & Experience:
  • Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree
  • Supervisory or project management experience
 
Skills & Abilities:
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills, including workflow management, coordinating a variety of tasks simultaneously and attention to detail
  • Superior critical thinking skills and judgment, with an ability to maintain a professional, upbeat attitude
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work with multiple deadlines
  • Ability to coordinate and be accountable for multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a group
  • Ability to work with individuals across a wide range of expertise (e.g., faculty, researchers, administrators, students)
  • Basic knowledge/experience working with external project consultants and groups
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially on virtual interfaces
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Suite
  • Ability to travel, as necessary
 
Preferred:
  • Experience in education-related research field
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience utilizing online project management software (such as Asana)
  • Some Experience with Slack or other electronic communications system
  • Experience with Qualtrics
  • Experience in a non-profit, association or foundation setting
 
This is a 3-year, grant-funded position, with possibility of a 1-year extension. Hiring is contingent upon a pre-employment background check and eligibility to work in the United States.
