CSTA’s education team has compiled these recommended sessions for the CS Across the Curriculum Summit, set for Feb. 12. These recommendations also include the corresponding alignment to the CSTA Standards for CS Teachers.

Creative coding for ethics, identity, and self-expressions

Presented by Saber Khan, Angi Chau, and Shawn Patrick Higgins
Grade band: 6-8, 9-12

Learn how to use p5.js to create fun and easily accessible projects for your students and learn about other Processing Foundation projects. Session aligns with CSTA standards 2e. Use accessible instructional materials and 4e. Plan projects that have personal meaning to students. 

Math+C: Mathematics through Programming in Elementary Grades

Presented by Kate Coleman and Zak Kolar
Grade band: 3-5

In EDC’s Math+C microworlds, elementary students program in Snap! to learn critical mathematics content. Join us & solve some puzzles! Session aligns with CSTA standards 1a. Apply CS practices and 5c. Promote student self-efficacy. 

Climate science and modeling lesson
