Practice

The skills, behaviors, and ways of thinking that students with a strong foundation in computer science use to fully engage in a world powered by computing. The 2026 CSTA PK-12 Standards include four categories of practices: Ethics & Social Responsibility, Inclusive Collaboration, Computational Thinking, and Human-Centered Design, which reflect target outcomes for students by the end of high school and, as such, are recurring across grade levels and are developed through repeated exposure. Each standard is intended to reflect content from a given concept, as well as one or more practices.
